Sydney: The A-League said on Wednesday all tickets for Sunday’s grand final between the Western Sydney Wanderers and the Central Coast Mariners have been sold or allocated for the match in the 45,500-capacity Sydney Football Stadium.

The Wanderers, who finished first and are trying to win the league title in their inaugural season, will be led by former Japanese international Shinji Ono, one of three high-profile marquee signings this season in the A-League.

The other two couldn’t get their teams into the play-offs.

Former Juventus and Italy striker Alessandro Del Piero played with Sydney FC, which just missed a playoff spot on goal difference and finished seventh. Ex-England international Emile Heskey’s Newcastle Jets were a point behind in eighth.

Del Piero, Heskey and Ono will return next season after signing new contracts.
