Yuvraj Singh takes out his frustration on photographer

Mohali: India's star batsman Yuvraj Singh, who missed the crucial game against Australia, took out his frustration on a photographer, virtually manhandling him ahead of the contest on Saturday.

Yuvraj, who had hurt his knee while playing kho-kho during practice session, was immediately taken for a MRI scan to detect the extent of damage.

A photo journalist from a local newspaper followed him and took his picture as he was leaving the scan centre.

Yuvraj, on seeing this, lost his cool and virtually manhandled the photographer by snatching his camera and asked him not to take any more pictures.

He then went on to shout at the photographer asking who had given him the permission to shoot pictures.

Yuvraj will be flying out to Mumbai to get his knee treated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) orthopaedic surgeon, Dr Anant Joshi.

The understanding photographer decided not to lodge a complaint against Yuvraj, attributing his bad behaviour to the disappointment of having had to miss the match against Australia on his home ground and also the tour of South Africa.

Interestingly, a player who did not want to be named said that whenever Yuvraj is on a massage table it brings luck to India.

During the Indian tour of Pakistan, Yuvraj was on the massage table when India chased a big target rather comfortably.

"We went up to him and asked him not to get up until we had won," he added.

Many Indian cricketers are superstitious. One cricketer revealed that soon after V.V.S. Laxman returns from his batting, they never let him get up from his seat, fearing that a wicket might fall.

Many players position their seats in different angles in the dressing room to bring them luck. During a Lahore match, Tendulkar, after a knock of 90, had gone to the rest room. While he was there, the Indian batsmen started scoring heavily, hence when he came out, Harbhajan rushed and stopped him from coming out.

"I had to remain in the toilet for 40 minutes," revealed Tendulkar to journalists on his way back to India after the tour.
