Dubai: Azim Yousuf and Sumanth Surapaneni emerged as winners of the Gulf News International Cricket Council (ICC) World Twenty20 MoneyGram cricket competition.

Yousuf, who hails from Pakistan, and Indian Surapaneni won the Grand Final Prize by correctly answering the questions in the competition.

They received two return tickets to Dhaka with a two-night stay in a four or five-star hotel and two tickets to watch the final match of World T20 Cup with airport transfers.

The prize-giving session was held at the Gulf News office on Sunday in the presence of Andrei Afanasyev, Regional Marketing Director of MoneyGram International — MEPA, Roopali Chauhan, Marketing Manager of MoneyGram International — MEPA, and Mohammad Farbes, Corridor Manager, MoneyGram International, South Asia, MEPA.

Forty-year-old Yousuf works as sales manager in the mobile phone industry in Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZA). Of his success, Yousuf said: “I am feeling great on winning this prize. I hope India and Pakistan play in the final.”

Thirty-five-year-old Surapaneni, who is a commercial coordinator in a company in Sharjah Free Zone, said. “I am very excited and am looking forward to this. I am going there to rock the show. Hopefully India will reach the final.”

Four contestants won tickets to see the semi-finals. They are Asif Iqbal of Sharjah, M. Arshad from Abu Dhabi, and P. Chander and S.M. Huraiz from Dubai. The two prize winners for the India-Pakistan match were J. Chandra of Dubai and V.K. Asarpota of Abu Dhabi.
