* Ahmad Shehzad became the second Pakistan batsman to be dismissed in the nineties in a World Cup game. Zaheer Abbas has been dismissed twice in the nineties (97 vs SL in 75 & 93 vs WI in 79).

* The 160-run partnership between Shezad and Haris Sohail is the third highest by Pakistan for the second wicket in WC matches. The highest remains 167 by Rameez Raja and Salim Malik, who put on 167 for the 2nd wkt at Karachi vs England in 1987.

* Shahid Afridi (8019 runs) went on to became the 27th player to reach the 8000 ODI runs mark and the fourth Pakistan player to do so.

* Afridi (8019 runs, 395 wkts) joins an elite club of players to have scored 8000 runs and taken 300 plus wickets. The only other to do so being Jayasuriya (13430 runs, 323 wkts).

* Pakistan’s score of 339-6 is their second highest score in a WC match. The highest remains 349 vs Zimbabwe at Kingston in 2007

* It was the fifth 300 plus score posted by Pakistan in a WC match. However it is the highest score posted by them in the WC with no individual century. The previous highest was 338-5 vs Sri Lanka in the 1983 edition. The highest scorers on this occasion were Zaheer Abbas and Javed Miandad, both of whom made 82.

* Shaiman Anwar (62) now has four fifty-plus scores in his last four innings. His scores in the last five ODI innings read: 51, 67, 106, 35 and now 62.

* Afridi now has been a part of most ‘WON’ ODIs for Pakistan. He won his 214th ODI, going past the record of Inzamam-ul Haq who was part of 213 wins.

* Pakistan’s win by 129 runs is their fifth win by a margin on 100 or more in World Cup matches.
