* Najibullah Zadran (56) posted the second highest score at number 8 by Afghanistan. The highest remains 62 by Mohammad Nabi, against Canada at Sharjah back in 18-2-2010.
* Martin Guptill registered his fifth fifty-plus score at Napier. He joins Astle who also has 5. Only Stephen Fleming (6) has more.
* Daniel Vettori (302 wkts) became the 12th player overall and first New Zealand bowler to claim 300 ODI wickets.
* At 36 yrs 40 days, he is the second oldest player to claim 300 ODI wickets after Sanath Jayasuriya who was 38 yrs 23 days when he did so.
* Vettori reached the milestone in his 291st ODI which is the third longest after Jayasuriya who took 397 and Afridi 314 matches to reach this milestone.
* New Zealand are yet to concede a 100-run stand in this World Cup. The highest partnership against them has been 97 by Scotland’s Machan & Berrington.
* New Zealand have now played five One-day Internationals in a row with the same team. This equals a similar streak of 5 ODIs with no team changes in 1997-98. Daniel Vettori featured in both.
