Dubai: Vivek struck an unbeaten half century to help Delhi Private School, Dubai defeat Our Own English School, Sharjah by nine wickets in the first Arena Sports Under-13 T20 championship.

After winning the toss and electing to field, DPS restricted Our Own English School to a modest 108 for six in their allotted 20 overs.

Anirudh top scored with a knock of 30 while Adil Ali played a little cameo scoring 18 runs. For DPS, spin bowler Aryan Lakra took two wickets while only conceeding seven runs in his four-over spell.

Set to score 109 to win, DPS comfortably chased the target in just 11.1 overs, losing just the one wicket of in-form opener Aryan Lakra, who was dismissed for 44.

Vivek top scored for the winners with a brilliant, unbeaten 56.

Post-match presentation was hosted by JOSH presenters Deep and Zainab and the coveted Dav Whatmore Arena Sports Academy jerseys were presented to 17 talented kids identified from the tournament.

In addition, JOSH picked its fab 4, who all will receive free coaching under the legendary Dav Whatmore once the Arena Sports Academies starts operating at the Rafles World Academy from February 2015.

Best Bowler – Hayden from Modern school who claimed 10 wickets

Best Batsman – Ansh Tandon from Gulf Asian for scoring 142 runs in 3 innings at an average of 142.

Emerging player of the tournament - Mecniel from Millennium – only centurion in the tournament and for scoring 143 runs at an average of 143 and a strike rate of 147.

Man of the final, Best All-rounder and Man of the Series – Aryan Lakra for his all round performance – 188 runs and 14 wickets.
