Dubai: Veteran cricketer Freddy Sidhwa has done it again. He produced a deadly spell with his slow left arm spin to pick six wickets for just one run in the Sindhi Premier League.

So deadly was his spell that the Merlin V Sindhi team was bowled out for a paltry 69 runs. Though a spinner, he loves to open the bowling and he mesmerised the Merlin V Sindhi batsmen having three of them bowled and three of them leg before wicket. Most of them had no clue to his incoming deliveries.

He returned with figures of three overs, two maidens, one run and six wickets. U Sindhis knocked off the target in 13 overs and won the game by four wickets.

Sidhwa makes sure to play cricket regularly for the last sixty years and inspires all the members of the team. He also captains the Seven Seas team and produces match winning performance. However in the first Al Barakah Cup held under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council, Yogi Group defeated Seven Seas by two wickets in an early round match. Batting first Seven Seas set a challenging target of 163 for 8 in their allotted 25 overs. Hazrat Hussain remained the top scorer with his 40. Abdul Samed bagged three wickets and Silva took two.

Chasing the total, Yogi Group lost wickets in regular intervals but just managed to reach the target in 24.3 overs with two wickets remaining. Ayoub top scored with 46 runs.

In Umm Al Quwain, Biju Thomas hit a hurricane century to steer What's On trounce Cool & Cool by 112 runs in the first Commercial Bank International Twenty20 League being played at Umm Al Quwain. Thomas hit a 58-ball 146 as What's On piled up 283 for the loss of five wickets and later restricted their rivals to 182 for eight. Thomas knock contained 17 boundaries and 10 sixes.
