Dubai: Chennai Super Kings rode the allround brilliance of Ravinder Jadeja to shrug off their first-match loss when they hammered Deccan Chargers by 74 runs in a one-sided game of Indian Premier League (IPL) V at the Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy Cricket Stadium in the port city of Visakhapatnam in southern India yesterday.

Being put in, two-time champions Chennai scored a mammoth 193 for six in 20 overs. Jadeja, the highest paid player in this year's IPL auctions, was the topscorer for the Super Kings with 48 runs off 29 balls.

Coming in at No 5, Jadeja plundered three sixes and as many boundaries to give the CSK total the extra boost. His left-arm spin then proved quite a handful for the Chargers as he picked up five wickets for 16 runs.
