Big-hitting batsmen ruled supreme in the Dubai competition

Dubai: A shower of sixes rained down on the Gulf Super Sixes tournament, as big-hitting batsmen ruled supreme in the Dubai competition.

Biju and Shahzad of Teknoware were the stars of the day. Through six sixes and only one boundary, Biju hit 44 runs off just 12 balls, while Shahzad hit 37 off 15 balls with four sixes and one boundary. They posted 109 for one to trounce Khaleej Times by 83 runs.

Another six hitter was Kaleem of Serco Group. He hit 40 runs with five sixes and one boundary to help his team to a 75-run win over EHL Management.

Andy Russel of Sports City and Anish Pillai of Globelink West Star, who hit 41 runs and 36 runs respectively, were the only two to have more boundaries than sixes. Russel hit five boundaries and three sixes, while Pillai hit five boundaries and only one six.
