Abu Dhabi: Ali Safraz became the first batsman to score a century in this year’s edition of the annual Inter-Oil Companies cricket tournament being played at the ADCC grounds.

In last week’s thrilling encounter, Safraz slammed exactly 100 to help ADCO score a six-wicket win over Adgas with 13 balls to spare.

Adgas batting first scored 266 for five with strong contributions coming from Mohammad Faisal and Sohail Ahmad. Faisal scored an unbeaten 77 while Ahmad contributed 76 and in what looked like a formidable score of 266 in 25 overs.

However, the Safraz ton and and equally solid knock of 90 from Osama Tariq helped Adco prove their title ambitions.

In other matches, Takreer continued their winning streak with a win over Adma-Opco while Adnoc registered a nine-wicket win over Zadco.

Meanwhile, Gasco posted their first victory against NPCC while Petroleum Institute outplayed Borouge by 76 runs.
