Dubai: Quetta Gladiators trounced Lahore Qalandars by nine wickets in the fifth match of the Pakistan Super League at the Dubai International stadium on Saturday night.

Quetta won the toss and elected to bowl first.  Openers Brendon McCullum and Sunil Narine put on 46 runs in 3.3 overs.

Rahat Ali dismissed Narine for 28 when she slashed to Anwar Ali at point. At the score on 60, Jofra Archer had Fakhar Zaman caught and bowled for 1 while Mohammad Nawaz had Brendon McCullum leg before for 30.

Nawaz struck again in the eighth over by forcing Cameron Delport hit high to Anwar Ali at deep mid wicket for 15. In the next over Umar Akmal was trapped leg before by Hasan Khan for 1.

At the half way mark, Lahore were 84 for 5. To make things difficult, Raza Hasan got himself run out in the 13th over. Nawaz produced completed his four overs giving away just four runs and taking two wickets.

In the end they posted 119 for 9 in 20 overs.

Quetta having to score 120 runs in 120 balls, reached the target in 14 overs through Shane Watson’s knock of 66 and Asad Shafiq remaining unbeaten on 38.
