Dubai: Pakistan’s one-day specialist Sharjeel Khan cracked a breezy century off just 56 balls to light up the Mulk Holding Twenty20 Cup, organised by Ajman Cricket Council under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council at the International Cricket Council Academy ground.

This tournament is held under the patronage of Shaikh Abdul Aziz Humaid Al Nuaimi and sponsored by Mulk Holdings International.

Left-handed Khan, who is one of the most elegant and hard hitting batsmen in Pakistan today, cracked 120 runs with 12 boundaries and eight sixes. Incidentally, Khan who has been playing regularly in UAE’s domestic cricket had won the most prestigious man of the series award in the Superstars Twenty20 tournament organised by Dubai Cricket Council last year. He was winner of a car which was the prize for the man of the series in Superstars tournament.

In Mulk Holding Twenty20 Cup, Khan is playing for One Stop Tourism team. His quick knock helped the team post a whopping 234 for 4 in 20 overs and restricted United Bank Limited (UBL) to 194 in 20 overs. Despite Rameez Shehzad’s 59 and Aqeel Anwar’s 47, UBL lost by 40 runs.

In another match, Ibsons defeated Rufi Real Estate Farooq by four wickets. After winning the toss Rufi Real Estate Farooq posted 155 runs for 3 wickets with Mohammad Iqbal scoring 43 runs in 30 balls with six boundaries and two sixes while Ahmad Shaukat remained unbeaten on 45 with three boundaries and a six.

Ibsons through superb knocks from Waseem Baig, who scored unbeaten 47 runs in 35 balls and Mohammad Shafiq, who hit 30 runs in just 17 balls helped win the match 18.3 overs.
