Dubai: The semi-final line up for the 13th edition of the Duslco Ramadan tournament has been completed, with the best four teams from the 16 entrants gearing up for an intense battle at Zabeel Park.

Oud Metha inflicted a seven-wicket defeat on hosts Dulsco to become the last team into the last four of the tournament, which is being held under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council.

It was a disappointing end for the hosts after a creditable show in the earlier rounds. Dulsco posted a total of 154 for 6 through Zeeshan Siddique’s 54 off 34 balls with four boundaries and three sixes.

At one stage they had slipped to 86 for 4, but Omar Javed’s 38 off 25 balls boosted the Dulsco total. Sangeeth Joseph was the pick of the Oud Metha bowlers with two wickets for 17 runs.

Dulsco’s bowlers intitally gave them hope of victory, but Joseph upset all their plans with his batting. He thrashed the bowling and also utilised their poor fielding as he put on 49 with Awiz Iqbal, who hit 31 off 23 balls, and then steered the team to the target with Junaid (24) with 10 balls to spare.

Joseph remained unbeaten on 86 off 40 balls with seven boundaries and five sixes.

In the semi-finals, Aster DM Healthcare will take on Future King Heroes and Multiplex International will meet Oud Metha.
