New Medical Centre win UAE's oldest cricket tournament

Sharjah: New Medical Centre (NMC) have emerged as the champions of the UAE's oldest domestic cricket tournament through the heroics of twin brothers Asim Ijaz and Atif Ijaz.
In the final of the 34th edition of the Bukhatir League A division tournament, NMC defeated favourites Fly Emirates by two wickets at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The tournament lived up to its reputation of producing exciting finishes.
Chasing a moderate total of 159 runs set by Fly Emirates, NMC fought hard to reach the target, losing eight wickets in 47.3 overs.
Left-arm spinner Atif Ijaz, wrecked the strong Emirates batting line up taking four wickets for 12 runs while Asim Ijaz hit a 51 to ensure NMC's victory.
Emirates' Khurram Khan, who won the best batsman award, top scored with an elegant 58, but his knock was in vain.
