Dubai: The semi-final matches of the 13th Dulsco Ramadan tournament produced identical contests, with both the teams that batted first crashing to defeats. Multiplex International and Future King Heroes bowled out their opponents for cheap scores and raced to impressive victories to set up a title clash.

Multiplex bowled out Oud Metha for just 79 runs, despite Sangeeth Joseph’s battling 27. It was Joseph who had inspired Oud Metha past Dulsco in the quarter-final with a superb all-round show.

The main destroyers of the Oud Metha innings were Mohammad Yasir, who came up with a deadly spell of three wickets for just four runs, and was well backed up by Imran with two wickets.

Multiplex, who have a strong batting line-up that makes them favourites to win the final, raced to victory in just 10.4 overs without losing a wicket.

Future King Heroes, who have had an impressive run in this tournament, restricted Aster DM Healthcare to 123 with Faisal Khalil taking four wickets for 18 runs. Aster’s Nadir Hussain (19) and Mubasshir Ahmad (37) put on a brief partnership of 28, but the rest of the batting failed to rise to the challenge. Future Kings’ Amit Varma came up with an unbeaten 64 studded with five fours and five sixes to steer his team to the target with 22 balls and six wickets to spare.

The Dulsco tournament is being held under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council and the winners will receive a cash prize of Dh5,000. The runners-up stand to win Dh2,500.
