Abu Dhabi: United Bank Limited clinched the last quarter-final spot in the Gulf Technical Techaccess division-1 Cup after a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Interface Transworld.

Rameez Shahzad cracked an unbeaten century after opener Syed Maqsood scored 58 for UBL to knock off the winning runs after Interface were bowled out for 224 at the Shaikh Zayed Stadium.

Shahzad’s 75-ball 100 not out was highlighted by nine fours and three sixes. He shared a 131-run partnership with Ahmad Raza (20 not out off 47 balls) for the fourth wicket without being separated.

The result sent Multiplex, who defeated UBL in the previous game, out of Group D in which Ibsons emerged at the top. One Stop Tourism completed their league games unbeaten after pulling off a thrilling three-run win over Danube Lions in Group A.

All out for 221, OST hit back to restrict the Lions to 218 for eight despite a strong start provided by their opener Asif Iqbal (80) and No.3 Abid Ali (91).

Mohammad Azhar was the pick of the bowlers with three for 29 from 10 overs while Asif Mumtaz (10-0-25-1) and Rohan Mustafa (10-1-29-0) bowled well for OST.
