Abu Dhabi: Syed Maqsood hammered an unbeaten ton off 46 balls to power United Bank Limited to a resounding 10-wicket win over Lions CC to clinch the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council Twenty20 Cup at the Nursery Oval-1.

Chasing 141 for a win, Maqsood, the stocky opener blasted 10 fours and eight sixes. His captain and opening partner Amjad Ali also chipped in with a 23-ball unbeaten 38 and UBL finished the contest in 11.3 overs.

The Lions tried out eight bowlers but each one of them were carted to all corners of the ground. Amjad’s knock contained three fours and a six, but his contribution was left in the shadows of Maqsood’s onslaught.

Earlier, Lions electing to bat posted 140 for nine with the main contributions from opener Chathura Deshapriya and No. 4 batsman Mohammad Fazil, each scoring 32.

Usman Saeed was the pick of the UBL bowlers, returning with four for 29 from his four overs. Zaheer Maqsood and Aqeel Anwar grabbed two wickets each.
