Dubai: It’s a year of ‘firsts’ for the eighth edition of the Emirates Airline Twenty20 (T20) tournament at the ICC Academy this weekend.

Not only is it the first time the competition will be held over two days, Thursday and Friday March 23-24, but it’s also the first time the number of participating teams have increased from four to six, and the first time it will be played at the ICC Academy in Dubai Sports City.

Teams include Pakistan Super League (PSL) winners Peshawar Zalmi and fellow PSL side Lahore Qalanders as well as top English T20 sides; Lancashire Lightning, Durham Jets, MCC England XI and the Birmingham Bears.

Star players include; Jimmy Anderson, Ian Bell, Paul Collingwood, Liam Blunket, Graham Onions and Ben Ducket.
