Abu Dhabi: Interface registered a thrilling three-wicket win over Danube in the ninth UBL T20 Floodlit Trophy held at the Shaikh Zayed Cricket Stadium last weekend.

Danube, who took the first share of the crease, rode on a 51-ball 63 from Abid Ali to post 164 for seven in 20 overs. Apart from Ali, useful contributions also came from Shehzad Manna (31) and Asif Ali (18).

Anil Raju was the pick of the bowlers for Interface with 2 for 32, while M. Qadeer, Rizwan Rauf, Nadir Hussain and Waheed Rahman claimed a wicket apiece.

Interface had a shaky start to their run chase as they lost both their openers Fahad Tariq (5) and Hafiz Kaleem (8) cheaply. Rauf, then, steadied the innings with 45 off 38 balls. Mohammad Butta also got run out adding just three to the total and it was left for the lower order batsmen to see them through.

Ramveer Rai (16), Bilal Arshad (18) and Rahman (19) kept Interface in the game. However, it was knocks under pressure from Salman Baber (11) and Hussain (5) that eventually saw Interface across the line.

Interface needed eight runs off the last over with the ball in the hands of Zahoor Khan. The equation was reduced to two runs off the last ball and everyone were at the edge of their seats. However, Hussain did it in style, slamming a boundary to clinch a memorable victory and triggering celebrations in the Interface camp.
