Abu Dhabi: Breezy half centuries from the top three batsmen – Irfan Ali, Safeer Ahmad and Mohammad Ashraf – propelled Adma-Opco to a 60-run win over Schlumberger and a passage into the last eight of the Pan Global Twenty20 Cup.

Ali (81) and Ahmad (63) shared a 131-run partnership for the first wicket and the No. 3 Ashraf smashed 58 not out for Adma-Opco to post 227 for five after electing to bat first. Schlumberger in reply made 167 for eight.

Abdul Aziz, the captain and opener, stroked 71 not out while Sanjeewa Dias and Prasanna Peiris grabbed six wickets between them to script Al Fahim’s victory over Ferco.

Etihad Engineering clinched a seven-run thriller with three balls to spare over Daman Insurance. Saleem Raza and Sajjad Ahmad took seven wickets between them after openers Abdullah Qayyum (63) and Mudassar Ijaz (43) had set the the platform with a 94-run stand in 10 overs to put up 169 for nine. Daman Insurance were well placed at 102 for one in the 11th over when Raza and Ahmad struck.
