Dubai Kulith Rabel, an off spinner who wants to emulate Muttiah Muralitharan, produced a spell similar to his idol. He bagged five wickets for just nine runs to guide Desert Cubs Cricket Academy to a nine-wicket win over Unique Cricket Training Centre in the Cricket for Care Under-15 Inter Academy tournament conducted by Dubai Cricket Council at the Sevens cricket grounds.

Kulith, who inspires himself by carrying the photograph of Muralitharan with him, is delighted with his spell. "I love to be an all-rounder and am working towards it," said Kulith, who also bagged the best fielder award in the Nissan Gulf Cup tournament. He is also a fine captain.

Persley Polonnowita, head coach of the Desert Cubs academy, said: "Kulith is not just a fine bowler but is also one of our finest batsmen. He has performed consistently at one drop and two drop slots. He is also a fine leader and had led the team to the Inter Academy final and even this year under his captaincy the team has reached the semi-final."
