Dubai: Pakistan skipper Misbah Ul Haq is in the same position as England's Test captain Andrew Strauss was following his team's 3-0 defeat in Test matches.

Haq has no excuses for losing the One-day series and is groping for answers. He subtly hinted that his team, despite being the hosts, could be suffering from home sickness.

Haq highlighted the dangers of having to play series after series away from their country. "I feel the fact that we are playing away from home can be a factor. Sometimes home sickness could also be a factor as we are not playing at home. Conditions and many things are different here. I am not giving an excuse here but to beat England we have to play good cricket. The way they have come back, they have totally outclassed us in all the three matches," said Haq.

"Whenever you get defeated it is not a nice feeling. However, we need to give credit to England for the way they have come back after the Test series. They have played much better cricket than us in all three departments. They produced disciplined bowling and batting. Their fielding was also better than us. Due all these reasons they won all the three matches," he said, trying to hide his disappointment.

When asked why Pakistan has lost despite batting first unlike in Abu Dhabi were they proved to be poor chasers, Haq said: "England played much better cricket than us. Today condition was very tough for our bowling while England produced very disciplined bowling to restrict us. They used the new and the old ball very well. We were simply restricted to a small total and after that they batted really well."

Does he believe that England with their new technique is playing all his bowlers very easily? "It is a known fact that when a team comes to play in a different condition it will be difficult for them at the start. England kept playing our spinners and have got a bit used to them now and that is why they are improving day by day. The way they are getting runs have made them confident too," said Haq reminding everyone that England is still the No.1 ranked team.

"England attained the No.1 slot through consistent performance. So as a No.1 team they were expected to stage a come back any time. Despite losing the Test series 3-0 they have worked hard and sorted their problems with spin. A look at their batting will reveals that they have lost only about five wickets in all the three matches. In our case none of our batsmen has made a big score nor capitalized on a good start."

Haq believes the even in the oncoming Twenty20 series too, England will provide a tough fight: "We will have to learn quickly from the mistakes especially in our batting. Some batsmen are getting good starts but are not making a big score. We need to capitalise on our starts and get a good total. In these conditions we need a good total for our bowlers to produce a good result."
