The Rising Pune Supergiants is a temporary franchise representing Pune, Maharashtra. They are only contracted to play in the 2016 and 2017 seasons as they replace the suspended Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals. The India national team captain, MS Dhoni, will also skipper the Supergiants.
