Kolkata: Two-time Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Thursday roped in former South African gloveman Mark Boucher as their wicketkeeping consultant.

The South African, who featured in more than 450 international games, will join hands with his former teammate Jacques Kallis - the head coach of the franchise.

“Yes, we have roped in Mark Boucher as the wicket-keeping consultant,” a KKR source told IANS.

Presently the Knights have two wicket-keeper batsmen in their squad — Robin Uthappa and Sheldon Jackson. The latter however, has not played in a game this season yet.

Boucher, 39, is not a stranger to the league. He donned the Royal Challengers Bangalore jersey between 2008 and 2010 and then played for the Knights in 2011.

He played 147 Tests, 295 One Day Internationals and 25 T20 Internationals, where he had a record 998 international dismissals to his credit. His career was cut short by a freak eye injury.
