Fatullah, Bangladesh: Veteran India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh eclipsed Pakistan pace legend Wasim Akram to jump to ninth on the all-time highest Test wicket-takers list on Sunday.

Bangladesh’s Imrul Kayes was Harbhajan’s 415th wicket in his 102nd Test, overtaking Akram’s 414 from 104 matches.

Harbhajan ended the Test with figures of 3/64, taking his overall tally to 416 dismissals.

Another major landmark awaits Harbhajan as he is just 20 wickets shy of surpassing compatriot and pace great Kapil Dev’s haul of 434 wickets.

Legendary spinner Anil Kumble heads India’s all-time list with 619 wickets, followed by Kapil.

India and Bangladesh played out a rain-hit draw in a one-off Test match on Sunday.
