New Delhi: Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar turned 44 on Monday and the social media is flooded with birthday wishes for the Master Blaster.

One of the greatest cricketers to ever grace the game, Tendulkar won it all in the game and made an entire nation believe that nothing is impossible. With numerous personal and team milestones to his name, Sachin conquered his final frontier in the year 2011 when India lifted the World Cup at the Wankhede Stadium.

Six years and 22 days have passed since India’s historic night in Mumbai but the image of Tendulkar holding the trophy is still fresh in the minds of every Indian cricket fan.

From former teammates like Anil Kumble, Virender Sehwag and Harbhajan Singh, to rivals like Adam Glichrist and Michael Clarke, many current and former cricketers took to social media to wish Tendulkar on his special day.

There was one tribute that will most certainly bring a smile on his face — a tribute to the ‘master’ from the ‘apprentice’ himself. India skipper Virat Kohli took to twitter to wish Sachin and also called him his ‘cricket hero’.

Kohli’s twitter post read: “Happy B’day Paaji. May God bless you with more happiness and peace in life. My cricket hero always. @sachin_rt”
