Mumbai: India will not send men's and women's cricket teams to the Asian Games in November in China where the Twenty20 format will be introduced for the first time.

Ratnakar Shetty, a top official with the Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI), cited prior international commitments for India skipping cricket in the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China, from Nov. 12-27.

Shetty said on Tuesday that the BCCI already had informed China.

Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are likely to send cricket teams to the Asian Games.

India will be hosting New Zealand for three tests and five one-day internationals in November.

Cricketers to comply with rule

India says its cricketers to comply with anti-drugs agency whereabouts rule

Meanwhile, a top India cricket official said that India will comply with the World Anti-Doping Agency's (Wada) whereabouts rule for players.

Ratnakar Shetty, with the Board Of Control For Cricket In India, said on Tuesday they will have talks with Wada.

Indian cricketers last year refused to meet a Wada deadline to comply to the rule, saying it intruded on their privacy and was a potential security risk.

In October, the ICC suspended the clause until the Indian players' concerns were sorted out.
