Dubai: Sachin Tendulkar has warned his fans not to be misled by people who may attempt to benefit by using his name without permission.

Referring to a proposed academy to be set up in Ajman through a tie-up with his brother, Ajit, and Khushi Group, Tendulkar issued a statement saying: “I have neither discussed nor confirmed to be a part of any initiative with the Khushi Group.

“I am not attending any event called the Gulf Premier League on October 16. I am surprised and concerned that fans are being misled about my association with the aforesaid.

“With regard to my brother, Ajit, who visited a proposed venue on an invitation, there has been no concrete discussion or conclusion on any proposed academy. The organisers should immediately desist from any mischievous act of misleading people about claims of any association with my brother or me as none exist.”

On July 22, Khushi Group had announced the plans for the high-tech academy in Ajman through a press conference at the Raffles Hotel in Dubai.
