Abu Dhabi: Kashif Ijaz and Chathura Deshapriya stroked breezy half centuries and put on an opening stand of 121 in eight overs to script a seven-wicket win for the Lions over Adma-Opco in the Midcom President’s Cup division-2 tournament.

Kashif smashed 60, highlighted by five sixes and an equal number of fours, and Deshapriya stroked 54, containing four sixes and three fours, as the Lions made 187 for three in 15.4 overs in reply to Adma-Opco’s 181 for seven in the pre-quarter finals at the Abu Dhabi Cricket Council grounds.

Nadeem Rahim and Tariq Afridi too produced similar knocks for Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank to down Gasco by 57 runs.

They added 133 in 10 overs for the first wicket to set the platform for the bankers to put up 226 for four. Gasco in reply could muster only 169 for four.

Rahim (76) hammered eight sixes and five fours and Afridi (62) struck five sixes and four fours. Rizwan Amanat gate crashed to the party, hitting three sixes and an equal number of fours for a quick-fire 53 not out.

Humayun Gil grabbed four wickets for four runs from 2.1 overs to setup Royal Gymkhana’s seven-wicket victory over Emistate.
