Dubai: Hosts Al Sadiq Islamic English School trounced JSS International School by eight wickets to enter the quarter-finals of the first Al Sadiq Nissan Inter-school cricket tournament for boys Under-10 at the Al Sadiq ground. The architect of their victory was in-form Zayed Ahmad’s unbeaten 38.

After restricting JSS School to 65 for 9 in 12 overs through some tight bowling, Al Sadiq won in just eight overs. Ahmad hit four sixes and one boundary during his 17-ball knock of 38 runs.

In a clash between Delhi Private Shool (DPS), Dubai and DPS, Sharjah, the Dubai school won by eight wickets. Put into bat by DPS, Dubai, the Sharjah team could muster only 64 runs for the loss of two wickets in 12 overs. Agnibala Saravan top scored with an unbeaten knock of 29 runs. In reply, DPS, Dubai raced to victory in 7.2 overs losing just two wickets. Vivek A. Lakkoju hit an unbeaten match-winning knock of 40 runs while Vingesh Babu chipped in with 21 runs.
