Eight squads will battle it out at the Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket competition starting on April 18.

Do you think the Indian Premier League can really change the face of cricket? Will club loyalties matter more than country in the future?

Because of IPL, in the near future cricket will be ruled by money not with talent.

IPL has affected international cricket in a negative way because players now play their game for the sake of earning more money and not for their country.

IPL has given cricketers from around the world the opportunity to play an exciting tournament.

We can compare this with the fate of world football as most of the class players pay more attention to their club than their home country. Cricket in India has always been a patrotic game and hence people like to watch it between two countries rather than two clubs.

This cricket league will kill the golden moments of cricket.

Yes, I hope that the Indian Premier League will change the face of world cricket. And also I think that India can become the capital of world cricket.

All the state level politics will affect country level cricket.

I don't think such clubs can change the future of cricket.

This shorter version of the game like IPL will surely damage the basics of cricket and will keep gentlemen away from this gentleman's game to keep general people happy, to earn money via satellite TV and to involve corporations. The BCCI will bury real cricket in near future.

To comment on this in very simple terms: how much I earn at the end of any day matters the most. Not the country, the cricket pitch or even my other team mates.

I think finally cricket has arrived globally. IPL will provide a whole new spectrum to the game. Cricket will transform to what the European Football Leagues are today. It's just about time that the other countries will also launch similar leagues such as the IPL. We will see fast paced interesting encounters, inter-league tournaments and I do not think country loyalty will be hampered due to the advent of league cricket.

I do not think it is going to make much of a difference since cricket has always been associated with teams representing their countries rather than clubs. For a start it may be something new for the viewers, but I don't think it will catch up same thing happened with Kerry Packer world series.

Yes, in a way it will change the face of cricket because in this form of the game it is like a gamble and players are being sold and bought at an auction house.

This form of cricket is more exciting because of the 20-over game and participation of overseas players. I hope it will change the way people look at this game!

IPL is like a bubble that will burst very soon. Just by celebrities buying their teams, these guys are trying to hype the whole picture. It's all about money and no cricket. This is how i define IPL.

On a long term basis, IPL would leave negative effects on the horizon of global cricket and eventually, it shall be instrumental in dividing cricketers on social, moral and ethical basis.

Yes IPL is good as they understand political play in country. What more do you need if IPL can fulfill and understand your talent and bring you higher? In my opinion the future will be good for all the crazy cricketers who dream, talk, walk for cricket.

Oh yes for sure, infact the damage is already visible and activities like IPL has changed the face of the game. Why don't we have 30mins soccer or a modified version of baseball, rugby for example.

Well I don't agree that IPL will change the face of cricket because they are all playing for money and not for the game.

If players get more cash then cricket will change into business and it will affect international cricket.

Definitly IPL will bring change because of two reasons: 1. Strong Indian media 2. A huge Indian population

This will give a new face for cricket. I prefer to make it as world premier league with cricketers playing for any team.
