Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) Global Cricket Academy will be open by December.

The ICC cricket officials who visited the work site said that the academy will have the best facilities in the world.

"We will have the best cricket academy here. The one that is being built is the most diverse academy. This will provide opportunity for young people to learn the game from the world's best coaches," said Malcolm Speed, the ICC chief executive.

Ray Mali, the president of the ICC, said that with Rod Marsh heading the academy countries throughout the world will send their players to get coached here.

David Morgan, the next president of the ICC, after a close look at the site said: "Out of the ten full member nations of the ICC not all of them have the state of the art academies.

"This academy will surely be attractive and helpful to many nations."

Rod Marsh said: "It is a dream to start with and the dream is now turning to be a reality."
