Dubai: India's former captain Sunil Gavaskar, who is the most popular commentator during an India series will be the commentator for the ongoing Pakistan-England series.
Gavaskar will be the expert commentator for the Pakistan-England third Test and the following One-day series and Twenty20 matches.
"Gavaskar will not be going for India's One-day series in Australia but will be in Dubai to give expert comments on the Pakistan-England series," remarked Ajay Sethi, the Chairman of the Dubai based Channel 2 Group.
The Channel 2 Group through their Cricket Radio which is gaining popularity around the world has the official audio rights for all International Cricket Council events until 2015. Gavaskar's comments through the radio can be heard in UAE and even in UK.
"The Channel 2 Group has sub licensed the Pakistan-England radio rights to British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and hence Gavaskar's comments can be heard in UK. Geoffrey Boycott will be the expert commentator of the BBC. The ball by ball commentary can also be heard on 89.1 and coast FM. Radio 1 and Radio 2 will also be promoting this series in the UAE" added Sethi.
"The huge interest for the third Test, which is being touted as the decider of the series, and the One-day and Twenty20 series has tempted us to make it available for all fans irrespective of their nationality and hence included Gavaskar as the expert commentator," said Sethi, who is also instrumental in making radio commentary available through web sites too.
