Dubai: Former India Test and One Day International captain Sourav Ganguly is relishing the prospect of returning to compete at the Emirates Airline Twenty20 in Dubai next week.

Ganguly has been included in a star-studded MCC side that will be participating in the event taking place at The Sevens Stadium on March 23.

"It is an honour and a pleasure to represent MCC again, and I look forward to coming back to Dubai for another competitive day of professional cricket in the Emirates Airline Twenty20," said Ganguly, who also played in the event last year.

Ganguly will be joined in the side by recently retired former India team-mate Rahul Dravid, as well as ex-England batsman Mark Ramprakash and Pakistani Rana Naved.

The MCC will be taking on 2011 English County Championship winners Lancashire, plus Durham, Sussex and Fly Emirates XI in the tournament, which will also feature top stars such as Steve Harmison, Graham Onions, Michael Yardy and Glen Chapple.

"It is a great honour to have Sourav Ganguly competing again at the Emirates Airline Twenty20 and we are looking forward to welcoming this legend of the game back to Dubai," said Tournament Director Matthew Jackson.

"The Dubai crowds are certainly in for a treat with this kind of talent on display. With the likes of Sourav, Rahul Dravid and Rana Naved in their line-up, the MCC look to be strong contenders for the title. They certainly won't have it all their way, however, with some top-class players and former internationals in the other teams as well."

Tickets cost Dh25, with accompanied children under 12 free. Tickets will be available from the gate at The Sevens Stadium, which is located on the Dubai-Al Ain Road, just beyond Exit 29/30.

A free shuttle bus service will leave every 20 minutes from the Nakheel Offices next to Winchester School in the Gardens, near Ibn Battuta Mall. For more information call Promoseven Sports Marketing on 04 3210008 or log on to www.emiratest20.com.
