Abu Dhabi: Al Jabeen and MMS Rental sent fancied opponents Danube Lions and Yogi Group packing from the Onashi Trading Pan Global Development Ramadan Twenty20 Cup.

Shiram Sharma and Yasir Kalim shared a century stand to script Al Jabeen’s stunning win over the Lions by seven wickets, while a superb team effort saw MMS Rental get the better of Yogi in the quarter-finals at the Shaikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Sharma hit a breezy 73 not out off 53 balls and Kalim 39 not out off 24 balls to see Al Jabeen home with four balls to spare.

MMS Rental used seven bowlers to restrict the strong batting of Yogi to 162 for eight and all their batters then chipped in with useful contributions to chase the target in 19.3 overs.

Joining them in the semi-finals are Wings, who overcame Brooks by 13 runs, and Alubond Tigers, resounding six-wicket winners over Interface Transworld.

Ryan Hinds, the West Indies spinner, took four wickets to bowl out Brooks for 177 in reply to Wings’ 190 for five.

For the Tigers, Pakistan international Hasan Raza played the anchor role with a well-compiled 59 not out for his team to knock off the winning runs with five balls to spare.
