Sharjah: A disciplined performance from Emirates NBD helped them sneak past Radio 4 by 10 runs in a Group A match of the Aseel Islamic Finance 26th Sharjah Ramadan Cup 2014 Twenty20 cricket tournament organised by the Sharjah Cricket Council at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.

Emirates NBD opener Taimur Khaleel gave a good start with a 26-ball 36, supported by four boundaries and two sixes. Once he fell, a series of wickets tumbled — leaving Emirates NBD struggling at 82 for seven after being at a strong position of 63 for three. Ranjith Nayar through an unbeaten 28 runs and Waqas Khan scoring unbeaten 19 helped Emirates NBD post a challenging total.

Radio 4 began well bit lost too many wickets in between that proved to be costly and could muster only 118 for six.

In the sixth Al Dhaid Ramadan tournament at the Al Dhaid Cricket Village, Phoenix Medicine scored a thumping eight-wicket victory over Al Jabeen.

After the Phoenix Medicine bowlers did a commendable job to restrict Al Jabeen to a meagre 73, Ayoub Inayat fired a quick-fire 44 to ensure Phoenix Medicine overhauled the target comfortably in 10.1 overs.
