Abu Dhabi: Mudassar Ejaz grabbed five wickets and Mubeen Mughal smashed an unbeaten half-century to lead MMS Rental to victory over Life Line Hospital by eight wickets.

The result took their tally to six points from four games, earning them a place in the quarter-finals of the Onashi Trading Pan Global Development Ramadan Twenty20 Cup at the Shaikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.

Mohammad Tanweer, who opened the bowling, provided the early breakthrough by removing both openers before Ejaz ran through the middle order to skittle out Life Line Hospital for 88 all out.

MMS Rental lost two early wickets in the form of opener Zain Butt (4) and one-drop Naveed Khan (5) when the score was 11, but Aftab Owais (30 not out) and Mughal’s 33-ball knock, highlighted by three sixes and an equal number of fours, saw them through.

Interface Transworld also booked their place in the last eight after a resounding nine-wicket win over Health Authority of Abu Dhabi. Jagrit Anand and Hiten Dalal stroked unbeaten half centuries to guide their team to victory after restricting HAAD to 145 for four. Yogi Group sent United Bank Limited packing as they completed the group stage unbeaten, while Alubond Tigers stretched their winning streak to three with a convincing win over Daman.

Yogi Group, Danube Lions, and Al Jabeen also took their winning momentum forward with each team notching up their third win to book their passages into the quarters.

Yogi overcame New Medical Centre by seven wickets and the Lions got the better of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank by five wickets.

Shahzad Manna persisted with his good form by scoring 88 as Yogi knocked off the winning runs with more than two overs to spare after restricting NMC to 150 for six.

Saqib Ali, the UAE international who has returned from a back injury after more than seven months out, made 39 not out, while Mohammad Usman (43) and Niresh Fernando (31) chipped in with useful contributions for NMC.

Rohan Mustafa (40) and Andre Berenger (39 not out) shared an 80-run partnership for the second wicket to set up the Lions victory after they lost opener Asif Iqbal without a run scored. Yasir Kalim smashed 71 from 51 balls, while the Al Jabeen bowlers demolished Al Faraa by bowling them out for 87 to guide their team to a resounding 54-run win.
