Sharjah: Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) Blues beat Pak Emirates by five runs in another exciting match in the Sharjah Ramadan Rufi Cup cricket tournament.

The Blues are made up of some of the promising cricketers in the UAE and the star of the game was Zahid Shah, who has been in splendid form this season since his excellent bowling in the Asia Cup in Pakistan.

Shah, who opens the bowling for the UAE team, produced a spell of three for 19 and was supported by Owais Hameed, who took 3 for 25, to restrict Pak Emirates to 126 for 7 in reply to ECB's 131 for 9.

Pak Emirates had recorded a nail-biting win in their first match against Universal Steel through a last ball six.

Nine-wicket win

Usman Khalid, who hit an unbeaten half century and the last ball six in that match, fell for 27.

In another game, Emirates Islamic Bank scored an emphatic nine-wicket win over Salala Club.

Naeem Khan and Ahmad Raza bowled out Salala Club for 115.

Emirates Bank raced to victory in just 11.2 overs through Faizan Asif's whirlwind 79 off 40 balls with seven fours and six sixes.

All but 15 of his runs were scored through boundaries.

Lloyds Bank win

Meanwhile, Lloyds Bank also scored an easy seven wicket win over United Arab Bank (UAB).

The experienced Lloyds Bank restricted UAB to just 128 thanks to Kishore Sheshadri's deadly four wicket spell.

Lloyds Bank won in 14.1 overs through Sunil Kanojia's 65 with six fours and three sixes.

The New Medical Centre (NMC) team from Abu Dhabi too recorded a comfortable 88 runs victory over Al Habtoor Leighton Group.

Mohammad Ashraf hit 65 to guide NMC to 171 for 8.
