Sharjah: Delhi Private School (DPS), Sharjah have won yet another inter-school tournament to prove their dominance in domestic cricket.

Within 10 days of winning the Under-13 Pepsi Vision Cup inter-school tournament they have won the Desert Cubs Cricket Academy Under-12 tournament title too.

DPS would have made it three in a row had Dubai Modern School not upstaged them in the final of the Pepsi Vision Cup Under-17 tournament.

In the Desert Cubs Under-12 final, DPS Sharjah defeated Our Own High School, Sharjah by eight wickets.

Speaking to Gulf News after yet another triumph, Vikram Dutt, the coach of DPS, said: "Our school's triumph is due to our 3-D effect — Dedication, Discipline and Determination. Regular practice with these three qualities has won us the championship."

Electing to bat, Our Own School were restricted to 94 for 7 in 20 overs. Chirag Thakur (2 for 17) and Sparsh Hedge (2 for 16) struck vital blows to check the run flow.

DPS raced to the target in just 11.1 overs with Zoaib Zafar hitting 30 and Abhinav Dhawan remaining unbeaten on 15.

Mohammad Afzal of Our Own School bagged the player of the tournament award while Khailesh Mamtani of Sharjah Cricket Council won the best batsman award. Chirag Thakur won the best bowler award while Dillon Bastians of Desert Cubs Academy won the best fielder award. Mazhar Khan, the Administrator of the Emirates Cricket Board gave away the prizes.
