Abu Dhabi: The UAE’s World Cup bound cricketers — Rohan Mustafa, Amjad Ali and Kamran Shehzad — made notable contributions to their respective team’s victories in the group phase matches in the Onashi UBL Twenty20 Cup.

Mustafa took four for 18 from four overs to skittle out Life Line Hospital for 72 in reply to their team One Stop Tourism’s 148 for seven under lights at the Shaikh Zayed Stadium.

Mohammad Qasim top scored for them, hitting 66 not out from 44 balls while opener Fahad Ansari (25) and Mustafa (19) were the only others to reach double figures. Ali smashed 95 and shared a 127-run stand for the first wicket with Syed Maqsood (66) to set the platform for United Bank Limited’s 152-run triumph over newcomers Enigma.

Ali’s 51-ball knock was highlighted by 13 fours and a six while Maqsood faced 39 balls and hit half-a-dozen fours and three sixes. Rameez Shahzad joined the run-feast scoring 45 from 19 balls that included five sixes and a four.

Kamran Shehzad took three for 25 from four overs to script Ibsons’ six-wicket win over Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank.Shehzad got rid of both openers Tariq Afridi (1) and Zeeshan Mustafa (7) as the bankers were bowled out for 112. Ibsons knocked off the winning runs in 11.3 overs.
