Ajman: Ajman Cricket Council will continue to stage tournaments without a break even during summer.

The enthusiasm for taking part in their tournaments has been such that the council has decided to stage its popular Trucape Ramadan Twenty20 tournament from July 19.
It will be a 16 team tournament and the council want all interested teams to email to arms2222@hotmail.com.

Last week, the council staged their Junior Champions Trophy. Age Steel Defeated Flowtech Cricket Club by 56 runs in the final to emerge supreme.

Age Steel scored 196 runs in 20 overs through Ghafoor Butt’s breezy of 60 off 30 balls with six boundaries and four sixes. Flowtech lost three quick wickets for nine runs but manage to post 140 runs. Ghafoor sparkled with the ball too to take three wickets and bag man of the final award.

Nauman Farooq of Flowtech won the best batsman award while Yaqoob Maseeh of Al Jabeen was adjudged best allrounder and Manal Siddiqui of Age Steel bagged the man of the tournament award.

In Umm Al Quwain, Fanatic (RAK) defeated Al Futtaim Honda by two wickets to win the third Junior Corporate T20 in a low-scoring final. Batting first Al Futtaim Honda struggled with the bat from start and managed to post only 121 runs.

Fanatic reached the target losing eight wickets but with three balls to spare. Mudasir Wazeer of Fanatic who bagged three wickets for 15 runs form his four overs won the man of the final award.
