Manny Pacquiao has delivered some sage parenting advice via Instagram, accompanied by a picture of himself with youngest son Israel.

Family is clearly central to the life of the Dubai-bound Filipino boxer, who regularly posts pictures with his wife and children on social media.

“Every father should remember that one day his son will follow his example instead of his advice,” Pacquiao wrote, in a post that has been shared nearly 80,000 times.

Pacquiao is coming to Dubai in November when he is planning to play for his Philippine Basketball Association team, the Mahindra Enforcers.

“I’m excited to meet my fans, especially the OFWs (overseas Filipino workers),” he told Gulf News recently. “It will be my first time to visit Dubai.”

The man known as ‘Pacman’ is yet to return to the boxing ring since his defeat on points to Floyd Mayweather on May 2.

Controversy surrounded the fight after Pacquiao claimed he was denied painkilling treatment for a shoulder injury he was subsequently accused of hiding.

Amir Khan has been talked about as a possible next opponent, although Pacquiao trainer Freddie Roach says Danny Garcia is the Filipino’s preferred next fight.

In the meantime, he can focus on basketball.

The Enforcers will face Alaska Aces on November 6 in the first of two PBA Philippine Cup matches to be played in Dubai, at a location yet to be decided.

The Aces will also face Barangay Ginebra on November 7.
