Actor says he is still amazed by his massive fan following
Shah Rukh Khan says his dream is to make an Indian film for an international audience.
“I hope it comes true in the next few years in whatever capacity — director, producer, actor,” Khan told reporters in Kolkata.
The actor will soon be seen in the Maneesh Sharma-directed thriller Fan.
“Before I could become a fan, I became a star. I still don’t understand how people love me so much, care for me, and so do their mothers, children and families. It is quite a responsibility for me sometimes,” Khan said.
Asked whether he is a fan of himself, the superstar said, “I am amazed that I [became] a star. My general belief is people who become actors are people who do not love themselves, they just want to be a different person every morning.”
He dismissed suggestions that the clash of his film Raees with Salman Khan’s Sultan at the box office will act as dampener on his film.
“There are only 52 weeks and 250 films being made in a year, so some films will be released together. It’s not about enmity or friendship,” Khan said.
Fan releases in the UAE on April 14.
