The title of this upcoming Tamil film will probably take some of you back to your childhood days when you played this game.

Directed by debutant director Ike, Sangili Bungili Kadhave Thorae features Jiiva and Sri Divya in the lead. Jiiva plays a real estate agent working in a small town.

According to the trailer, he brings his family to live in a mansion.

What no one knows is the spooky element hovering around this building and that sets rolling a horror comedy.

Ike, coming from a family of actors (he is the grandson of veteran Tamil actor M.R. Radha) always knew that his heart lay in films. After his Masters, he did a course in filmmaking at Digital Academy, Mumbai, before assisting noted Malayalam director Priyadarshan. The next hop was to the sets of Kamal Haasan’s Vishwaroopam and Vishwaroopam 2.

Sangili Bungili Kadhave Thorae is his first feature film.

The supporting cast includes his family members, uncle Radha Ravi, aunt Radhika Sarath Kumar and cousin Vikram Vasu, along with Thambi Ramiah, Soori, Mayilsamy, Kovai Sarala and Rajendran.

Sangili Bungili Kadhave Thorae is produced jointly by Tamil director Atlee under his banner A for Apple and Fox Star Studios.

So what lessons did he learn from his mentors, Priyadarshan and Haasan?

“Contrary to his serious appearance, Priyadarshan sir is the funniest guy I have met. He has a wonderful sense of humour,” said Ike.

“Comedy is serious business actually. How to improvise on the sets is something I learned from him. I also learned to handle a large team.”

Ike says Haasan is a fantastic writer who pays attention to little details in his script. “I understood the importance of a bound script. It gives a clarity to the actors prior to shooting,” he said.

Will Sangili Bungili Kadhave Thorae keep the house rolling with laughter or pass off as another horror comedy that Tamil cinema seems to have a fancy for of late?

“Come with the family and enjoy it,” promises a confident Ike.

Check that out on May 18 when Sangili Bungili Kadhave Thorae hits screens in UAE.
