Salman Khan’s family planning birthday surprise

Actor Salman Khan’s family has planned something special for the actor on his 50th birthday on December 27.

Khan had earlier indicated that he will not have time to celebrate as he will be concentrating on his physique for his role in the upcoming sports drama Sultan.

Actress Sonakshi Sinha, who had made her Bollywood debut with Khan in Dabangg, revealed that his family will be doing something to mark the occasion.

“His family has done something special for him. I cannot say much as it’s a surprise. I am glad I got to be part of that surprise,” Sinha said on Saturday.

During an interview, Khan had said, “This year I cannot afford [time off]. I would be training only. I cannot afford to have the luxury [to celebrate my] birthday and all.”

Professionally, the year has been a major success for the star as both his film, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, were massive hits.

The year has also been a controversial one for the actor. Khan was first convicted and then exonerated by the Bombay High Court in the 2002 hit-and-run case that killed one person.

The star had also posted a series of tweets suggesting that the man convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts, Yakub Memon, was innocent and should not be hanged for the acts of his brother, Tiger.

The actor apologised after his comments drew flak.
