Bollywood actor Salman Khan has denied reports of a “feud” between him and another Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, saying there is no groupism at all in the film industry.
“There is no groupism at all. I do my own work. I don’t think there is any groupism. I don’t follow anyone’s life.”
“If anyone comes to talk or meet me, I will talk to them or meet them nicely. I don’t care who is whose friend and all. It doesn’t matter to me at all,” Khan said.
A spat between Shahrukh and the ‘Dabangg’ movie star a few years ago set tongues wagging on a growing chasm between the two top guns. Gossip mills are abuzz about Shahrukh’s close friend Karan Johar reportedly singing Salman’s praise and apparently sending feelers to work with him.
Even Priyanka Chopra, who is considered close to the actor, and banners like Yash Raj Films seem to be warming up to Khan. The latest twist in the tale came in the form of SRK loyalist Arjun Rampal. There are reports that Rampal is going to be on Khan’s
show ‘Bigg Boss’.
Rampal reportedly missed SRK’s New Year bash held in Dubai and also praised Khan for his brilliant performance in ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. Rampal, who delivered hit films such as ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Don’ and ‘Ra.One’ with Shahrukh, seemed to be gravitating towards Khan. When asked if someone who picks a fight with SRK becomes his friend or vice versa, Khan said, “I don’t think so it is that way at all”.
On a rift between Shahrukh and Rampal, Khan said, “I am not even aware if there is any fight or whatever [between them]. I don’t think so [that Arjun is closer to me]. I just met him at Sanjay Diwan’s party. We just spoke for two minutes.”
Meanwhile, after several seasons of reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ highlighting fights and contestants hurling abuse, the sixth season has been a ‘family’ show. And Khan is quite happy with the way the show has shaped up.
“We wanted it that way [a family show]. To quite an extent it has been like that. Compared to earlier seasons, it has been parivarik [family viewing]. The show is moving well and getting good TRPs [ratings],” Khan said.
In this season contestants such as TV actor Rajev Paul and image consultant Imam Siddique were seen picking fights and shouting abuse but it was not as rampant as it was in the previous seasons.
“Some people like that [fights]. They feel it is entertainment while others don’t. People do abuse when in the house and that is due to the situations. Even in normal life abuses just slip out from people when with friends but no one takes notice of that,” he said.
The contestants present in the house include model Niketan Madhok, model-actress Sana Khan, Imam Siddique, TV actors Urvashi Dholakia, Rajev Paul and Delnaaz Irani. The show began on October 7 and the finale will be held on January 12. From the current crop of contestants Khan thinks Urvashi, Niketan, Sana and Delnaaz have a chance of winning the show.
