Milan: This season’s Italian Super Cup between champions Juventus and Cup holders Napoli will be played in Doha three days before Christmas, Serie A officials confirmed on Thursday.
The match will be played at the Jasem Bin Hamad Stadium in the Qatari capital on December 22 at 8pm local time (9pm UAE).
Juve and Napoli failed to agree on a date for the final’s traditional August slot, which Napoli were particularly keen to avoid due to commitments in the Champions League play-offs.
Juventus beat Lazio 4-0 to win the 26th edition of the Cup in Rome last year, although past editions have been held in Washington, New York (USA), Tripoli (Libya) and Beijing (China).
