Dubai: Al Alami and Al Ameed took maximum points, while Sport 4 All and La Magica split points on the fifth day of the Sharjah Ramadan Football Championship (SRFC) being held at the Sharjah Sports Club.
Al Alami scored a 3-1 win against CR7, while Al Ameed paced themselves well for a 5-3 win against Forsan Al Muwaleef. In the third match of the night, Sport 4 All and La Magica played out a 2-2 draw that sent La Magica crashing out of the competition.
Sport 4 All started off on a high note with Abdullah Ansari supplying teammate Abdullah Mahmoud to net the first goal in the seventh minute. A minute later, Ebrahim Eid levelled the scores to see the first half end at 1-1.
La Magica took the lead for the first time after Saeed Obaid scored in the third minute, only to see Hesham Al Montasir level the score for Sport 4 All two minutes later. Desperately looking for a win, La Magica did find the back of the net but had the effort ruled out by the referee as he had already blown the whistle to signal the end of the game.
Knowing well that a win would give them leadership of Group 2, Al Alami went on all-out attack only to see CR7 go clear through Mubarak Al Ruwaihi’s goal in the seventh minute. But Al Alami came back through Ahmad Yousuf Mohammad just before half-time. Al Alami’s Iranian player Ameed Oran made it 2-1 while Adnan Sultan rounded off the score in the 12th minute to put Al Alami at the top of the group.
In the third match, Rashid Al Asli gave Forsan Al Muwaleef the lead in the third minute, while Hussain Ahmad got the equaliser just before half-time. Eisa Rahma then netted the second goal for Al Ameed in the fourth minute of the second half while teammate Al Asli got his hat-trick in quick time. Jaber Murad did manage two more goals, the last one from the penalty spot, but it was simply not enough for Al Ameed.
