Ras Al Khaimah: A Filipina housemaid was rescued after falling into a deep, open water well by emergency workers on Wednesday evening, an official at Ras Al Khaimah Civil Defence told Gulf News
Civil Defence team were called to Al Helila area in Ras Al Khaimah after the owner of the house near the well heard cries for help coming from the 15-metre water well at 7.50pm on Wednesday.
As soon as the rescued team arrived, one of them rappelled down the well and rescued the housemaid.
The 48-year-old Filipina housemaid, identified only by her initials L.J., sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.

It was not immediately clear how the housemaid fell in the well.
Police took the owner of the house for questioning. Meanwhile, Ras Al Khaimah Civil Defnece reminded residents that all wells must be covered.
In November last year, three Emirati children died and another child was injured after they fell into a water well while playing at the backyard of their house in Al Naifa area, Al Ain.
