Emirati film ‘Hijab’ qualifies for Oscar award

California: The UAE documentary film Hijab, which means ‘veil’ in English language, has qualified for the best documentary film award in the Oscars 88th session.

The film was registered by the Oscar’s Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in the finalists’ list for the documentary film award. The short list consisting of 15 films will be announced in December.

The nomination of the film came when it was screened by Anasy Media in the seventh session of Carmel International Film Festival, CA, held from October 21- 25.
